Brazil quilt sequel...
I've made a couple quilts for special people in Brazil who have gone above and beyond in being so kind to Tyler on his mission in Brazil.
In the process of making Tyler one too to be ready when he comes home in 2 weeks!

Latest ones...these are late presents...shhhh. still a surprise.
Here is my sister's quilt that I wanted to give her for Christmas...but my quilter wouldn't quilt it because she was slammed with others...phhsh gosh I gave her a whole two weeks notice...so I decided not rush on it until she could quilt it. FYI it is NOT a Christmas quilt...she just likes those colors together. :) Incidentally, this is Brian's favorite quilt I've ever made. hehe
Here is Miss Krista's quilt. I felt bad for her when we were all buying fabric to finish all the other kids' quilts and making baby ones...I thought I'd get her in the loop too. Triangles were hard! Don't look too close...tons of matchy corner mistakes. I'll stick to doing regular square, with 2 borders quilts. Thanks.
Tan minky for the backing and I'm into the rick rack for a border these days...it's for fun.

Love the binding on this one. Stripes just makes it!

New quilts from Fred...
Here is a Christmas quilt that I just finished. I used a turning 20 pattern and very fun prints. I loved all the modern prints like zebra and chevron. Yes, it all came in a kit.
This quilt is called a texture quilt. It has cottons, flannels, corduroy, and two different minkys. I love this concept. In the process of making a second, larger foxy quilt.
This is chevron backing..the same as a pattern on the front. The green chevron closeup picture is on the back. I love the greens and blues together. Reminds me a bit of Krista's cute elephant quilt made from Sheryl. I love the ric rack around the border and the binding.
I made what I call a Brazil quilt for the sweet family that houses the missionary (my missionary) in Brazil. It is the colors of the Brazilian flag and it has a soccer minky (you can't tell the softness) backing it. I bound it in plain white (Christian's suggestion). I love the ombre chevron feeling of the quilt. I did purchase enough of the same fabric to make Tyler one too when he returns.
And they got it! Loverly!

Very Hungry Caterpillar
My mother-in-law asked me to make this for her new granddaughter - Jules. I found all the material online....so much fun to make! Wendi, of course, had it quilted (stippled) and then bound it for me. I hope they love it!

Regular sized quilts as of late
This is my first Buggy Barn quilt. I took a class at Cotton Shop. My friend (Michelle) makes awesome quilts that I get ideas from.
close up of one of the flowers
Bound in a scrappy sort of way with grey minky (mmmmm).
Traditional strip quilt. I can't seem to get away from making these. I guess though I've made lots but not kept any. This one is ok. Not my fav.
I love how it's backed in cute soft polka dot...minky.
Pink and Orange Quilt (topsy turvy) done again with a pattern from Crazy Mom Quilts
Love the flower quilting...quilted by my friend Michelle. All others were quilted by Stacy Simmons.
And...my most fav of all. I did save the best for last. Saw pattern and kit in Fabric Mill in Orem and HAD to have it. Love all the greys, greens, yellows together. Who knew they would go so well together.
I took a bazillion pictures trying to get the pattern of the minky but it just wouldn't show up.
Trust me it's so cool
Tops are done of 2 crib sized Christmas quilts (I don't know why...just to get rid of the fabric that was given to me)
Another big square quilt (from a kit...I do well with those...not so much thinking)
And...another couple scout quilts. I think these may be the last.
